Starry, Starry Night. Winter 20/21 collection

With so much uncertainty about celebrating festivities with friends and family or attending winter markets I wanted to pay tribute to winter markets and small businesses. The joy of walking around a winter market with friends, browsing work by local makers and business owners and maybe a mulled wine of two.

Starry Starry Night is the opposite of the Ray Of Sunshine collection but draws on the same feelings of excitement, happiness and hope. By using some of the same green and orange tones, I wanted the transition to feel like moving on from the sunny day time to the sparkly starry night time. Jewel and festoon light like colours were added to make a magical atmosphere on a dark night sky background. I always like to keep an element of hand drawn illustrations so started with gouache paintings to create soft and realistic textures and finished in procreate.

My favourite is the folded winter market card, printed on gorgeous card with the subtle texture of eggshell. The colours are so vibrant and bright and really capture the magic of a festive fair. A beautiful card that looks so gorgeous on a shelf alongside your decorations, you might not even want to post it.

I'm passionate about sending cards and handwritten letters. Lockdown proved how important these little moments of happiness are. Is there anything more excited than a handwritten envelope addressed to you? So many people bought my packs of cards to write to their friends over the last few months which made me so proud and happy!

There are more products coming to the range soon, which will be a fun run up to Christmas. Have a look at the Starry Starry Night range so far. x
