Those walking past Hand & Lock's Atelier this week have been lucky enough to see me sitting in the window. Not as a new art installation piece but to create an illustration drawn directly onto the glass for Hand & Lock's first capsule collection. After receiving a commendation for my entry and baboon illustration. Hand & Lock offered me the challenge of decorating their 2.25m x 1.75m window using chalk pens.
The illustration is based on the brief of their capsule collection, inspired by human and animal hierarchies and the endless power struggles featuring riot imagery like guns and grenades with wildlife motifs.
I completed the window in 2 days, admittedly not so gracefully at times but getting encouraging thumbs up from van drivers every so often meant that I knew I was doing a great job...
More pictures to follow, once the collection is put in the window. If you're in the Oxford St area over the next few weeks, have a look.
