I feel so honoured and lucky to be able to work with so many of you to create beautiful portraits of your pets. Here is a small selection of some of my favourite commissions from the past year. These are some of the reasons to create a Pet Pal portrait with me:
Special place. To remind us of the special bond we have with our favourite furry friends and our favourite places to go with them. Capture the relationship you have/had with your best bud.
Capture their personality. If you can’t settle on one image there is the option to have multiple of the same character. This allows your pet’s character shine from cute and sleepy to goofy and derpy, select your favourite images of your pet to be illustrated (I know it’s hard to choose just one pic!)
They make wonderful gifts. Each portrait is made with 100% care and so much thought is put into working out the design, the illustration process and tweaking it to make it perfect. It really is a collaborative process that we work on together to produce a unique portrait for your loved one.
Things to consider:
What would you like to capture? A moment in time, a feeling, a special bond, a particular picture?
Do you have plenty of photos (my guess is your phone is FULL) select your favourites to send to me.
Seen any of my previous illustrations you like? Send it to me and I can reference it.
Colours, do you have favourite colours? Is there a room you have in mind for this print?
Time, is there enough time for us to work on the perfect portrait? If not think about gifting the portrait and I can liaise with the recipient to get exactly what they want!
More is more! Send me as much information as possible, your hobbies, favourite places, colours etc. It might seem trivial but these little details always make it so much more personal and special.
I don’t have to draw directly from a photo, I can compose an illustrative scene using a variety of your photos as reference. (To be honest it could be complete fantasy- eg. your pet guinea pig riding on the back of a fire breathing dragon on a boat in the middle of the sea…)
